Isaac Brown, Commander, Yongsan, Korea; and Lt. Col. Chris Simpson, Deputy Director of Finance, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Pearl Harbor, HI, appearing for Department of Defense. WILLIAMS, Board Judge. On September 20, 1996, claimant Douglas M. Mullins, a safety and occupational health manager with the United States Army, filed a claim seeking $2,350.85 in travel expenses in conjunction with his transfer from Taegu, Korea, to Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. On December 3, 1997, the Board was advised by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, that this claim has been paid in the amount of $2,099.60. The difference between the amount claimed and the amount paid is the difference between what Mr. Mullins paid for his airfare and the allowable Government airfare. Claimant did not advise the Board that he was paid and has not communicated with us regarding his case since March 1997. On January 8, 1998, the Board received a copy of the payment voucher confirming that payment to claimant was made on April 16, 1997. Beginning on December 3, 1997, the Board attempted to contact claimant to ascertain whether this action should be dismissed in light of the agency's payment or whether he is continuing to prosecute a claim for $251.25, the difference between his original claim and the amount the agency paid. The Board attempted to contact claimant at the telephone number on file and learned that he had transferred to Ft. Lewis, Washington, but no forwarding address or telephone number was available. The Board was informed by the personnel office at Ft. Lewis that it had no listing for claimant. The civilian personnel office at Ft. Shafter, Hawaii, claimant's previous duty station, also advised that it had no forwarding information for claimant. The Board has been unable to contact claimant and has received no indication that claimant is requesting any further relief on his claim. In light of these circumstances, the Board is dismissing the case. In the event claimant is dissatisfied with the agency's payment action, he may reinstate this claim. __________________________ MARY ELLEN COSTER WILLIAMS Board Judge
