James B. Day, an employee of the Internal Revenue Service, asked the Board to review his agency's determination regarding reimbursement of real estate transaction expenses the employee incurred in purchasing a home at his new duty station following a transfer in the interest of the Government. Upon reviewing the claim, the agency agreed to pay most of the contested expenses. The employee agreed to accept the offered amount in satisfaction of the claim.
